Hazley provides a construction project manager that works with each client to make sure all the work streams are aligned and moving forward. Hazley also provides an Interior Finishes project manager that assists clients with cabinetry, bath, kitchen and flooring choices. Highly recommend them!

The aspects of my experience with the Hazley team that exceeded my expectations are many. The architecture design process was invaluable. I knew exactly what was going to be the final product. The honesty and professionalism of our project manager was beyond reproach. The attitude expressed during the entire process was that it will be made right if we are not happy with any part of the project.

We can’t imagine having done a project of this scale with anyone else. They treated my home and family with respect, communicated well, and really understood and over delivered on the vision we had for making this old house our new home.

We just wanted to let you know how much we appreciated the preparation and presentation to the Zoning Board that Brian handled on our behalf this week. The “ease” with which the board was able to come to their decision to approve the request for a variance was due in large measure to Brian’s skillful presentation of the information so that the layperson could understand what we intended to do. We are so happy with all the renovations and only wish we had decided to do it earlier as it is hard to imagine how our house looked beforehand!  We have gotten so many compliments on all the work done.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know how happy Lauren and I are in our renovated home.  These self-quarantine, stay-at-home orders present lots of challenges, but our home makes them more than tolerable.  If I have said it once, I have said it 100 times, we love it and are so happy we decided to renovate and not build new. There isn’t enough space here to tell you how happy we are with the professionalism, attention to detail, willingness to stand by their work and easy-to-work with qualities of Hazley Builders. This is a father and sons business and Mike Hazley Sr. believes keeping customers happy, even after they have completed the job, sets them apart from other contractors. He is right about that. They constructed a new addition for us that is handicap accessible (new sitting room, bathroom, dressing room and closet) and it is beautiful. They went the extra mile with so many things, like reinforced beams, extra insulation, etc. When we had a problem with the new toilet about 6 months after the renovation was completed, Mike’s crew was here to solve the problem, which was a manufacturer’s flaw. His workers were careful about heeling in bushes and other plants that I wanted to preserve which they had to dig up to pour a new foundation for the addition. They replanted them once construction was done and everything lived and is thriving. I could go on and on. My best recommendation is the number of times I have recommended Hazley Builders to friends, relatives and acquaintances.

They found a much less expensive solution to our problem. Excellent work by polite workers. Clean. On schedule. We are very happy with the results.

This review is long overdue, but we have used Hazley builders for multiple projects, the largest of which was our addition and kitchen remodel. It seems unheard of these days that a contractor finishes a job on time and on budget, but they did, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Not only are they professional and knowledgeable, they are just all around nice people that care about their customers and their community. My house was built pre-Civil War in 1849 in downtown West Chester. My guess is that the front porch was added somewhere around 1930. Over the years the sun and rain have done damage to the flooring and steps. So periodically there is a need for repair. This time the repairs were centered on the floor that was rotting underneath the three porch posts that support the roof at the steps. As the posts sank they were pulling away from the roof. So this was not a simple job.

Scott of Hazely Builders was able to support the roof so that the porch posts could be repaired, the joists and floor underneath replaced, and a section of flooring was replaced. During this time the steps had to be moved to a temporary area of the porch so that new steps could be built. Take a look at 201 West Miner Street if this sounds like the work you are preparing to do. A cheap price is not always a good deal in the long run. Hazley is a top-notch company that will work with you to get your job done right. They bent over backwards to make sure that the work here was done right, my tenants could get in and out of the building at all times, and they did it with a smile. Give Chris Hazely a call. We hired Hazley to build an addition to our house while remodeling our kitchen and downstairs area. From the first day, their team was always on-time, clean, and courteous. These guys are the real deal. The previous remodeler we contracted spent months working on our kitchen renovation. A friend recommended Hazley Builders to us and it one of the best decisions we’ve made. They not only completed our kitchen project but fixed the mess the previous remodelling did with the kitchen and it turned out great. Hazley Builders did a great job on our exterior and basement renovation projects. They worked with us to nail down the big picture down to the details, which is evident in the finished product. Given the unique challenges of construction during COVID, we were especially impressed that our projects went as smoothly as they did, and they came in very close to budget. In addition to regular progress updates from our project manager, Hazley’s team was also flexible when needed, and they helped us address hiccups along the way, including modifying the basement specs to add a tray ceiling that would accommodate our gym equipment. We enjoyed working with Hazley and would definitely work with them again.
